What’s Been Up?

Well, here we are, already more than halfway through with September, and I’m so behind on updating my blog. I really need to get into the habit of writing more entries!

July was a great month! Key Moments was released and did better than I thought it would, reaching higher on the Amazon charts than I ever imagined, though it still did not qualify for “Best Seller” status. (Maybe one day, right?) On that note, I want to THANK YOU for helping to get it up the chart, even if it was only for an hour or so. But hey, considering that I broke the ten thousand mark out of over eight million books online at Amazon, I think that’s pretty dang good!

At the end of July, I had a private book launch party which some of my closest friends and family members attended. It was a great turn out, despite the fact that there was a tornado mere hours before “curtain call” just a mile away! By the time the party rolled around, the sky was dry, and we all had a great time. There were door prizes (a few were items that were mentioned in the book), friends, family, food, drinks, and an autograph session! It was a very surreal moment for me. I loved every second of it.

In August, I had a book signing at the Conundrum bookstore in St. Francisville during the town’s annual Polos and Pearls Event. I was overwhelmed by the friends, family, and patrons that stopped by there to support me. I really felt the love!

Two more awesome things happened last month that I’m happy to announce! One is that I signed up for the Louisiana Book Festival which will be held on November 10th in downtown Baton Rouge near the State Capitol. I will be in Exhibitor Tent C, so come see me! (A list of all exhibitors can be found here). The other is that Key Moments is being produced for Audible! I’ve been asked a few times if it was available for download on Audible, and after I had to say “no” for the third time, I decided to look into it. I’m extremely excited about working with my producer in generating the best audio version that it can be! It’s a process that won’t be ready overnight, but hopefully by the end of the year.

In other August, unrelated book news, my husband and I adopted a dog. Her name is Molly Golightly Politz and she’s a 9-year-old Cocker Spaniel. She’s so sweet and a beautiful addition to our family. We love her!

This month has had me working more on the second book in my Key Series. I’m on chapter 9, and though it’s been slower to come than the first book, I think it will be better for it.

I’m also trying to decide if I want to start a podcast. I’m not sure there’s enough interest for that yet, but if you’d listen to a podcast about Key Moments and details about my research and insider stuff, please click here to answer a quick survey. Thanks!

If you’ve read Key Moments and enjoyed it, please consider going to Amazon and writing a review for me. I would really appreciate it!
