The Past Two Years

Well, it’s been almost two years since my last blog entry. I’m the worst blogger ever. I’ll recap all book-related news the best that I can.

My second novel Key Elements came out November 1, 2019. It picks up right where Key Moments let off. It’s available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble.com, and many other online retailers. Just do a search for my name and it will pop right up. I hope you enjoy the second installment of my Key Series!

I didn’t have a launch party for Key Elements because it was released so close to the holidays, and things are so hectic at that time of year. I had planned on having one sometime soon after we rang in 2020, but as I was trying to get things in order, COVID hit, and you know the rest of the story. Hopefully I’ll be able to have a launch party for my next one.

Key Moments will be available on Audible SOON! Hopefully by September, but definitely before Christmas. I had a great narrator/producer who really brought Clay and Lynn to life! I hope you will enjoy the production of their story. On that note, Key Elements will follow on Audible ASAP.

I’m slowly but surely working on Book Three right now. It’s not coming near as fast as I would like it to, but you know what they say, “Good things come to those who wait.” I promise it will be good. With as crazy as the world has been the last few months, I’m ashamed to say that I’ve left writing on the backburner. But I’ve missed Clay and Lynn and I’m getting back into the swing of all things researching, writing, and editing.

If you’ve read Key Moments and Key Elements, please consider going to Amazon and writing a review for me. I would really appreciate it!

What’s Been Up?

Well, here we are, already more than halfway through with September, and I’m so behind on updating my blog. I really need to get into the habit of writing more entries!

July was a great month! Key Moments was released and did better than I thought it would, reaching higher on the Amazon charts than I ever imagined, though it still did not qualify for “Best Seller” status. (Maybe one day, right?) On that note, I want to THANK YOU for helping to get it up the chart, even if it was only for an hour or so. But hey, considering that I broke the ten thousand mark out of over eight million books online at Amazon, I think that’s pretty dang good!

At the end of July, I had a private book launch party which some of my closest friends and family members attended. It was a great turn out, despite the fact that there was a tornado mere hours before “curtain call” just a mile away! By the time the party rolled around, the sky was dry, and we all had a great time. There were door prizes (a few were items that were mentioned in the book), friends, family, food, drinks, and an autograph session! It was a very surreal moment for me. I loved every second of it.

In August, I had a book signing at the Conundrum bookstore in St. Francisville during the town’s annual Polos and Pearls Event. I was overwhelmed by the friends, family, and patrons that stopped by there to support me. I really felt the love!

Two more awesome things happened last month that I’m happy to announce! One is that I signed up for the Louisiana Book Festival which will be held on November 10th in downtown Baton Rouge near the State Capitol. I will be in Exhibitor Tent C, so come see me! (A list of all exhibitors can be found here). The other is that Key Moments is being produced for Audible! I’ve been asked a few times if it was available for download on Audible, and after I had to say “no” for the third time, I decided to look into it. I’m extremely excited about working with my producer in generating the best audio version that it can be! It’s a process that won’t be ready overnight, but hopefully by the end of the year.

In other August, unrelated book news, my husband and I adopted a dog. Her name is Molly Golightly Politz and she’s a 9-year-old Cocker Spaniel. She’s so sweet and a beautiful addition to our family. We love her!

This month has had me working more on the second book in my Key Series. I’m on chapter 9, and though it’s been slower to come than the first book, I think it will be better for it.

I’m also trying to decide if I want to start a podcast. I’m not sure there’s enough interest for that yet, but if you’d listen to a podcast about Key Moments and details about my research and insider stuff, please click here to answer a quick survey. Thanks!

If you’ve read Key Moments and enjoyed it, please consider going to Amazon and writing a review for me. I would really appreciate it!

It’s Alive!

I’m so excited to say that my book is finally out! It was released on July 1st, almost a year to the day that I started writing it. And it’s surreal… To hold it in my hands. To see people ordering it. To hear that people love it. It makes my heart smile and my soul jump with glee!

It’s been a crazy process, but so worth it. Key Moments is available at Amazon and many other online retailers in paperback and ebook. If I’m lucky enough for you to buy it, I would sincerely appreciate you leaving a review on Amazon.

Thank you ALL for supporting me and following me along on this wonderful, fun, (but sometimes frustrating) learning experience.

I hope you enjoy the story of Clay and Lynn. I’m excited to get back to actually writing again on a daily basis. I’m already on chapter 6 of book two!

Cover Reveal

Hey!

I’m so excited to let you see my cover! And my manuscript has been sent off for formatting! One step closer to being a reality. It will be surreal when I actually get to hold it in my hands. I’m aiming (hoping, praying) for a mid to late summer release. Cross your fingers!

I hope the cover grabs you. Would you pick it up off the shelf  or click to find out more about it? Get ready for some mystery, adventure, romance, drama, and more!

Trying Out This Blog Thing

So, this is my first blog post ever. Thanks so much for clicking and wanting to read a little about Key Moments. I appreciate your interest!

Here’s a little backstory… I was inspired to start writing due to the fact that I had a lot more free time on my hands. I was quickly getting bored with the internet and social media in general. I decided that my time would be better spent doing something a little more constructive. So I started brainstorming ideas on July 1, 2017 and began my book on July 3rd. It took me nearly 4 months to complete it, with many revisions. I had a few friends and family reading it as I wrote it. I had to know if it was any good or not. Apparently, I have a bit of talent in my pinky finger, as I got (surprisingly) great reviews from them. So THANK YOU ALL so much (you know who you are) for reading it and encouraging me along the way. I appreciate your feedback and suggestions more than you know. It’s now in the editing stage, which is a longer process than I had first thought. I’m hoping to have it ready to release for order and print by early July 2018. That’s my goal anyway. 🙂
